Pink Swap 2012 with Luff the Lake

First and foremost, let me go ahead and tell you that my Pink Swap partner KK at Luff The Lake did a FABULOUS job! Her items and presentation WAY out did mine!!!! Also I started writing this blog a couple days ago but two things happened:

1 - My husband found a new addiction to Spotify.com and he will NOT get off the internet when he gets home. Music has been blaring through my house now for almost a week. PLEASE make it STOP!

2 - KK told me she forgot to send her note with the gift so I wanted to wait to finish this until after I received the note and boy am I glad I did! The note was personalized with her monogram initials and sweetly written!

If you do not know what the Pink Swap is, please check out Monograms and Manicures. She holds an annual Pink Swap for girls to send each other PINK gifts! If she holds this swap next year you definitely want to check into it! The rules are simple:

1. Send in your Name and Email to to be paired with another girl around the country.
2. Your Pink Swap package must include four items but it can include more.
3. Your items must follow the simple theme of the swap, anything pink :)
4. Your budget for the Pink Swap is $30 (even thought i swear my partner went over because her presents were so cute and so many!)

KK and I spoke several times through email about the event and I was very excited to see what she had picked out for me. After anxiously waiting for her package to arrive, I found it on my doorstep one day after work. Let me tell you, I really needed this package that day because work had been a little overwhelming (I started a new job) and I really needed something to cheer me up/relax me. This is what I saw when I opened her package:

Isn't that the CUTEST packaging you have ever seen?! I normally think of myself as a pretty crafty person but I totally blew it on this one. I just sent my gifts in the mailing box without even wrapping. KK took her time and personally wrapped each box with cute pink paper and adorable ribbon!

LOVE Paisleys!

The first gift I opened, my dog went nuts over; Literally:

Its a pink pig!
See that tail wagging?!?

KK was so thoughtful to even include a surprise gift for my dog Satcher! It was a little pink pig that you could put an empty water bottle in and your dog could chew on or he could chew on it without having that leftover plush toy stuff all over your house. Guess which option Satcher chose? The second one because he hardly gave me enough time to take the toy label off ! He was bouncing around my chair like "Mommy, mommy, mommy, I want it NOW." He LOVED his little pink pig, and yes KK, real men do wear pink (I think my husband looks so handsome in it!)

Here are some of the other treasures I found in my box:

I love being in the kitchen and cooking so these baking items, towels, and ice cube trays are prefect; especially for Valentine's Day. I think the ice cube trays might even be multi-functional: ice trays or mini cupcake/treat trays?!? Plus look at my personalized towels, very nice!

LOVE the cupcake cards! A thank you note is definitely in order!

An H stamp (super cute) and finger nail polish which is on my fingers as I'm typing.

Obviously, KK knows me better than she thinks she does. My current credit card/id holder is by Vera Bradley in the same color as she got me the key-chain. I love Vera Bradley items but I'm not one of those type girls that knows every color name and has to have ALL my purses/travel bags etc from Vera Bradley and it has to be in the same color and when a new color comes out, you have to buy everything all over again. (tiny run on sentence) HOWEVER, I do like some of the colors VB has (even though I wish they would go back to some of their older, less crazy out there styles) including the one KK got me.

Also, I seriously bought a pair of socks to give her but then decided to keep them and buy her something else because I didn't want her to think I was crazy and buying her socks like Grandma's do at Christmas. I love socks and think they are great gifts that keep my feet warm during the winter (if we could even have winter here this year; 74 in February, WHAT is this!) SURPRISE, KK had the same idea and I have already worn both pairs and washed them. They are comfy and thick which an A+ in my sock book.

Last, but certainly the best was my name monogrammed tote. I am not sure if KK personally sewed this tote together or not but either way it is fabulous and I am already using it to carrying my stuff back and forth to work! It is so big and I NEVER have anything monogrammed with my name on it. I mean come on, how easy is it to find something with Holli on it (Holly always, but not Holli; Thanks Dad!)

Now you see what I mean, KK did an AWESOME job with this Pink Swap! Hopefully next year I will do as good as she did this year for the swap. Thanks again for all of my gifts, I love them and definitely are putting all of them to use!

*PS- KK also got me two candles, pink candle holder and a pink eye-mask but I do not for the life of me know how I missed taking a picture of them. It was probably because there was so many gifts and I was in shock :)

So glad that you enjoyed all your pink goodies! My mother makes the reusable totes and she has an embroidery machine, so I am quite spoiled in that regard. She was so nervous she was going to make a mistake on your name, but it turned out great!
